Museum of Unusual Usuals is a project I started to collect, preserve, study, exhibit, and stimulate appreciation for knowledge of cultural events, past and present which can seem to be usual to some audience, but unusual for the others. The imaginary museum also strives to further its audiences’ understanding of both the diversity of cultures and the underlying unity of culture as a human phenomenon that drives human evolution.
LOGO
I wanted to design a logo that everyone can easily draw by hand, but once you draw it out, the logo immediately can distinguish itself from its simple shape.

Exhibition
The ten-year Cultural Revolution was launched by Mao Zedong in 1966 aiming to reassert his authority over the Chinese government by calling on the nation to purge Mao’s political rivals in the party. During this tormented and violent process, Cultural Revolution has resulted in a cult of personality in its claims on people’s loyalties. This exhibition is aimed to examine how the conversion of different forms of propaganda during Cultural Revolution has transformed ideology on a massive scale and consequently resulted in the alternation of everyday life.
Inspiration
The floating little red book and the black blocks that look like arbitrary flags or mountains are produced by constantly moving a piece of paper that has the little red book printed on it while making a copy on a printer.
Adding a picture of a piece of old wrinkled paper with soft yellow lighting to give it a vintage look with grim.
